Frances O'Keeffe

Public Health Nurse and former Concern Volunteer

Frances, from County Limerick in Ireland, is a Public Health Nurse currently working in inner-city Dublin. She first worked with Concern as a volunteer nurse in a primary health care project in Bangladesh between 1988 and 1990.

Subsequently she worked in emergency health and nutrition programs in Kurdistan (1991), Somalia (1992), Rwanda (1996), Southern Sudan (1999), Darfur (2004), and South Sudan (2015/16).

She has been a member of the Concern Worldwide board in Ireland since 1994 and was the Chairperson from 2010 to 2014. She then joined the US board in 2015.

Frances has a Higher Diploma in Public Health Nursing from University College Dublin and completed her M.Sc in Community Health in The University of Dublin (Trinity) in 2000.
