Elana Blumenfeld

As the Director of Human Resources, Elana is responsible for the management and advancement of the organization’s Human Resource profile to attract, develop, motivate, and retain productive, engaged employees.

Elana works to develop the members of our team, creating exciting career paths, and fostering a community of diversity, high performance, innovation, and passion. She delivers perspectives on HR trends to senior colleagues to help shape strategy and business procedures as well as set standards and ensure best HR practice in the US office.

Elana oversees the Staff Engagement and Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) group. She supports the team in creating and delivering initiatives designed to build a culture of inclusion and ensure the long-term sustainability of diversity and inclusion efforts.

After receiving her BA in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder (with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies), Elana completed her MS in Elementary Education at Long Island University. Her interest in the humanitarian sector-led Elana to begin her career with Concern in 2015 as an Administrative Coordinator, where she soon discovered her passion for taking care of her colleagues. She joined the HR team the following year and, in 2022, proudly celebrated her 7th anniversary with Concern.
