Oona Mitchell
Program Officer
As a Program Officer for Concern Worldwide US, Oona supports the Humanitarian Training Unit’s implementation of capacity building and system strengthening programs, namely the Local Capacity Strengthening for Response (LCS4R), National NGO Program on Humanitarian Leadership (NNPHL), and Building a Better Response (BBR).
Prior to joining Concern, Oona lived and studied in Argentina, Taiwan, and Brazil. She has a diverse work background, ranging from office and estate management to supporting the well-being and resiliency of individuals in her community. This work led her to provide support spanning the spectrum from birth to end of life care. In addition to her work, she has facilitated art and tutoring programs for refugee communities in Portland, OR; interned with PODER JOVEN, a gang and drug prevention program in high-risk schools; and supported health supply distributions in both Taiwan and Lebanon.
Oona holds a BA in International Studies: Latin America from Portland State University. She enjoys Brazilian dance, getting into nature, and anything having to do with her two chihuahuas, Lua and Rashi.
