Concern Worldwide US Presents the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award to Jon Ledecky on behalf of the Islanders Children’s Foundation
New York, NY — Concern Worldwide US is proud to announce that Jon Ledecky will receive the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award on behalf of the Islanders Children’s Foundation at the 2025 Unite to Fight Hunger: New York Gala on Friday, December 5 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
The Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award honors individuals and organizations who exemplify the extraordinary commitment to humanitarian action demonstrated by Tom Moran, former Chair of Concern Worldwide US and CEO of Mutual of America. It recognizes those who, like Tom, understand that addressing extreme poverty requires a deep sense of responsibility and a shared belief in the power of community.
“Tom Moran taught us that hope is not a feeling, it’s an action,” said Colleen Kelly, CEO of Concern Worldwide US. “Jon Ledecky is the embodiment of the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award. He doesn’t wait for change — he drives it. Through the Islanders Children’s Foundation, he channels his influence and generosity into programs that protect children, support families, and strengthen communities across the New York region.”
As co-owner of the New York Islanders and a driving force behind the Islanders Children’s Foundation, Jon Ledecky has dedicated his life to creating opportunity and hope for children and families. A successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader, Ledecky has long believed in the power of teamwork — both on and off the ice.
“It is a great honor for the Islanders Children’s Foundation to receive the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award,” said Ledecky. “Tom’s vision of hope as an action—not just a feeling—perfectly aligns with our belief. This award recognizes the collective effort of the ICF, where we are dedicated to channeling the spirit of the New York Islanders into real-world action, creating opportunities and a future filled with hope for every child and family we serve across the region.”
Through powerful storytelling, musical performances, and thought-provoking conversations with changemakers, the 2025 Unite to Fight Hunger: New York Gala will unite global leaders, philanthropists, and visionaries for an evening of hope, inspiration, and action that spotlights the impact of Concern’s work and proves that when we unite, we save lives.
