Dr. Rosalyn Tamming
Head of Policy, Research and Public Affairs in the National Disability Authority
Dr. Rosalyn Tamming is the Head of Policy, Research and Public Affairs at the National Disability Authority, an independent statutory body, in Ireland. Her background is in nursing and midwifery. She has a Masters in Community Health and a PhD in Health Services Research. She worked for four years in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, focusing on vaccines for children in developing countries. She has also worked and lectured at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Trinity College Dublin.
Rosalyn joined Concern in 1996, initially as a volunteer working for three years in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan. She rejoined in 2009 as Head of the Health Unit, based in Dublin, until 2016. Rosalyn joined the board of Concern Worldwide in 2017. She was a member of the Program Monitoring and Evaluation Committee for six years, including three as chair and served for three years on the Concern UK Board. She has been the chairperson of Concern Worldwide since June 2025. As part of that role, she chairs the Remuneration and Succession Committee and the Safeguarding Committee. Her specialist sector expertise in public health and nutrition is one of the key skills she brings to the Board.
