Humanitarian Advocacy Officer
As Concern US’s Humanitarian Advocacy Officer, Alessandra works extensively with country programs and supports Concern’s International Advocacy Team to bring Concern’s programmatic experience into the policy arena in New York and at a global level. Alessandra actively participates in high level policy processes and events, and represents Concern's various advocacy coalitions, working groups and networks. She is currently developing an updated advocacy strategy for Concern US, with particular emphasis on engagement with USAID and UN member states.
In her previous role as Humanitarian Policy Advisor at the Irish Mission to the United Nations, Alessandra engaged on a wide range of humanitarian issues at the UN and supported the Irish Mission during Ireland’s term on the Security Council. Her background includes roles at the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Austrian Mission to the United Nations, and the International Peace Bureau.
Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Alessandra holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs, with a specialization in the Middle East and Human Rights. During her undergraduate studies in Political Science, she spent a year abroad at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. In her free time, Alessandra enjoys traveling, discovering new places (especially restaurants), and spending time with family and friends.
