Julie Barrot De Brito
Senior Business Development Specialist – Strategic Partnerships
As a Sr. BD Specialist for the Strategic Partnerships team, Julie thrives to support the expansion of a US-based portfolio of like-minded foundations and corporations to maintain, strengthen, and expand support for Concern's humanitarian and development programs through a climate and conflict sensitive lens. In her role, she works with all 26 Concern country teams and contributes to amplifying their ideas within the world of US philanthropy, while collaborating with Concern's head offices in Ireland, the UK and Korea.
Julie brings over 12 years of experience in curriculum and training design, facilitation, and program implementation and management. Prior to joining Concern in 2023, she designed and implemented programs with rural communities in Kenya and Thailand. She then joined an AECOM-VISTAS and Veterinarian Without Borders partnership to work as a conflict anthropologist in South Sudan during the third civil war. In the USA, she interned at the United Nations in New York and subsequently joined the world of US non-profits specialized in community building and human services.
Julie holds a M.Sc. in Violence, Conflict, and Development from SOAS, University of London, UK, and a B.A. in International Relations and Languages from the ISCSP, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. A dual citizen of France and Portugal, she has lived in over 10 countries and is now enjoying eating as much cheese as she can in Milwaukee, WI, where she resides. She is always ready to talk about plants, languages, pottery, or literally any other topic that she can learn more about!
