Matt Durkin
Senior Development Manager
As Senior Development Manager, Matt plays an integral role in expanding Concern Worldwide’s community of high-level donors across the country, with a particular focus on the East Coast. He leads donor engagement and fundraising initiatives, manages key relationships and portfolios, and drives consistent year-over-year growth across the region. Originally from the Boston area, Matt spearheaded the launch of Concern’s presence in Boston, building the region’s donor community and establishing its growing portfolio of fundraising and engagement initiatives
Matt also leads the development of Concern’s marathon fundraising program, managing teams for the New York City, Boston, and London Marathons, with opportunities to expand to additional major marathons and endurance events.
Before joining Concern Worldwide, Matt co-founded The Durkin Foundation, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit providing services and support to individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, intellectual disabilities, and veterans’ affairs. As Executive Director, Matt helped raise more than $1 million during the Foundation’s first five years.
Matt holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University and a BA in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Marketing. He is also the host and creator of The Pop Corner with Matty Durkin, a podcast covering pop culture, reality television, entertainment, nostalgia, Broadway, and more.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys running, going to the movies (AMC A-Lister!), traveling, and spending time with family and friends, particularly near the ocean in York Beach, Maine.
