Concern Worldwide US Presents the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award to C.S. Venkatakrishnan
Concern Worldwide US is proud to announce that C.S. Venkatakrishnan (“Venkat”), Group Chief Executive of Barclays, will receive the Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2026 Unite to Fight Hunger: New York Gala on Friday, December 4 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
The Tom Moran Seeds of Hope Humanitarian Award honors individuals and organizations whose leadership reflects the spirit of Tom Moran, former Chair of Concern Worldwide US and CEO of Mutual of America. The award recognizes a commitment to humanitarian action, a belief in the power of community, and the conviction that meaningful change requires both responsibility and collective action.
This year, Concern Worldwide US will honor Venkat for exemplifying these qualities through his responsible leadeship and commitment to addressing complex global challenges.
“Venkat understands that the challenges facing our world cannot be solved by any one institution or sector alone,” said Colleen Kelly, CEO of Concern Worldwide US. “His leadership reflects a deep commitment to using influence to create meaningful change. That is precisely the spirit of the Seeds of Hope Award, and we are honored to recognize him.”
As Group Chief Executive of Barclays, Venkat leads one of the world’s largest financial institutions.
He joined Barclays in 2016 as Chief Risk Officer and subsequently served as Head of Global Markets and Co-President of Barclays Bank PLC before becoming Group Chief Executive in 2021. Over more than three decades in financial services, he has held senior leadership roles spanning risk management, capital markets, investment banking, and asset management. Prior to joining Barclays, Venkat spent more than 20 years at JPMorgan Chase, where he held senior positions across Asset Management, Investment Banking, and Risk.
Beyond Barclays, Venkat contributes to a number of industry and nonprofit organizations. In 2024, he was appointed Chair of the Financial Services Taskforce of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, where he works with leaders across the financial sector to support collaboration and progress toward a sustainable future. He also serves on the MIT CEO Advisory Board, the Institute of International Finance, and the Bank Policy Institute, and is Vice Chair of FCLTGlobal.
These roles reflect the qualities the Seeds of Hope Award honors: responsible leadership, a long-term perspective, and a willingness to engage with complex challenges facing our world.
The 2026 Unite to Fight Hunger: New York Gala will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 4 at Cipriani Wall Street, 55 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005.
